We’re excited to announce our newest accounting partner: Punch Financial, a fractional CFO and bookkeeping firm trusted by some of the most ambitious venture-backed startups.

With a decade of experience, Punch supports founders navigating the complex finance challenges that come with rapid growth—everything from accounting to cash flow planning to fundraising support. Now, they’re partnering with Tabs to bring their clients smarter, more scalable revenue automation.

Built for Startups. Trusted by Operators.

Punch was founded in 2015 by CFO Frank Mastronuzzi and built by finance leaders who felt the pains of startup accounting firsthand and saw a need in the venture-backed market. Today, the firm serves over 120 venture-backed companies across SaaS, fintech, e-commerce, cleantech, AI, and even space tech, with specialties in both corporate and fund accounting.

Selective by design, Punch prioritizes high-potential teams and long-term partnerships. With 90% of new business coming from referrals, they act as an embedded finance department, helping clients prepare for audits, tax exposure, fundraising, and exit.

As their clients evolve from straightforward SaaS contracts to complex enterprise agreements, Punch looks for tools that can scale with them—reducing manual lift, handling edge cases, and adapting quickly to client needs. Tabs stood out not just for product depth, but for the way our team collaborates across implementation and ongoing iteration.

“We want to find a partner that’s going to scale with our clients’ fast growth trajectories. One of our SaaS clients was drowning after launching usage-based pricing. After implementing Tabs, they gained the efficiency to focus on strategy instead of spreadsheets.”

— Frank Mastronuzzi, Founder and CFO, Punch Financial

In fast-moving environments, momentum matters. Tabs delivers with seamless integrations, a strong feedback loop, and a product team that builds alongside its customers.

Early Wins, Smoother Scaling

Engineers at heart, one of Punch’s clients, Vapi, chose Tabs for its cutting-edge, AI-native approach to contract ingestion and the revenue workflow. Prior to onboarding, the process was entirely manual: Punch’s team had to read every contract, log terms in a spreadsheet, and double-check whether unique terms and conditions across usage-based, tiered, or hybrid pricing models affected revenue recognition. The approach wasn’t scalable.

With Punch’s guidance and Tabs, Vapi is moving toward a fully automated billing and revenue recognition workflow, building stronger internal controls in the process. Beyond tooling, the Tabs x Punch Financial partnership is built on shared values. Both of our teams are hands-on with implementation, focused on educating startup operators about what’s coming—not just what’s urgent. For founders without a finance lead (yet), that guidance makes all the difference for future funding rounds and audits.

Looking Ahead

This partnership is about more than tooling. Punch and Tabs share a belief that early-stage companies deserve better financial infrastructure—especially when it comes to revenue recognition and tax compliance, as the stakes are high when fundraising or preparing for M&A. For Punch clients closing dozens of complex deals a month, Tabs becomes critical for eliminating rev rec inefficiencies that impact financial maturity and growth.

From educating founders and CFOs to collaborating on VC community webinars, Punch and Tabs are united by a mission to help startups automate critical revenue workflows with full visibility and compliance, so they can focus on strategy.
